cosmological simulations with the GADGET code | If possible yes, expecially if I will already have my account on the Grid | To learn how to use the Grid facility | applied 24.10.07 |

Not at all | cosmological simulations with the GADGET code | in principle yes | to learn how to use the Grid in daily life (e.g. how to bring an application to the grid and the results back) |
applied 24.10.07 |

I am currently using computing time in the DEISA Grid
(Unicore, DESHL). I have not yet experience with Globus. |
astrophysical N-body simulations of star clusters with nbody6++,
which is a high-accuracy parallel N-body code written in Fortran 77 |
Yes | To learn how the AstroGrid is organized in contrast to DEISA,
how to submit jobs. |
Yes |

Stefan Funk | TextGrid Goettingen |
Heike Neuroth | Yes, I participated in the GridKA 2007 in Karlsruhe and there I had my first experience with G-Eclipse and Globus TK4. |
We plan to implement a replication service based on Globus TK4, including authentication control using grid certificates in Java. |
Yes, I would like to install the Globus TK4
on my PowerBook G4 and I would like to experment with the Globus
storage tools (maybe using JavaGAT). |
Learning about TK4 certificates, user authentication and globus storage tools. |

Yes, I am a member of MediGRID. |
GWDG belongs to the MediGRID resource providers. I am dealing with workflows, scheduling and data management. |
This is not necessary for me. | I am interested in the Gridway scheduler, it's practical use and capabilities. |
Yes. |

No. | I just want to use this course in combination with a GRID-Seminar I visit ("GRID Technologie in der Wissenschaft". |
No. No time.
|
I want to get an overview how to use a grid system and I want to have a
look how it works in real (in contrast to the mentioned GRID-Seminar). |
No. |

A little bit. |
Cosmological Simulations, running them (computing power) and also analysing them (memory requirements). |
That would be interesting, in principle. But I rather prefer to have a one day workshop. |
Getting to know how to use the grid and perform general task (how to
get my data around, how to run a job, how to work with the environment,
how to compile, how to take different machines into account). |
Yes. |

I plan to run a Computational Astrophysics
Code at the grid. The Code uses 3D time dependent Hydrodynamics. It is
used to calculate planet formation in protoplanetaty discs. The Code is
based on the nirvana code. |
Yes. |
I expect to learn how the grid works, how to run applications on the grid and to gather more information about my upcomming Ph.D. Thesis which includes running my Code at the grid, and administrating parts of the grid at Tuebingen. | No. |
